Bradley Beal's Future in Washington Cleared Up
The Washington Wizards made it loud and clear earlier this season that John Wall would be the 'fall guy' and Bradley Beal was there to stay. The Wiz traded Wall to Houston for Russell Westbrook, as we all know, but now there's been a ton of speculation about Beal's future in Washington.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Beal has let Wizards management know, he has no desire to leave and he has not requested a trade.
Even with the Wizards being one of the worst teams in the league this season and Beal being obviously frustrated with the losing, he's showing loyalty to the franchise, which is hard to come by in this day and age of the NBA.
Beal's new extension kicks in next season and the $37.3 million dollar question will come in 2022 when Beal has a player option. Currently Beal leads the league in scoring, averaging 34.9 points per game, along with 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
We'll monitor this situation with each Wizards' loss as we creep closer to the trade deadline. For now, Beal isn't going anywhere.
