Wizards Broadcaster in HOT Water Over Comment Made Towards Rockets' Porter Jr

Washington Wizards broadcaster Glenn Consor is in some hot water after some comments he made during the Wiz latest matchup against the Houston Rockets. Consor made a comment towards the Rockets Kevin Porter Jr and the unsavory remark did not go over well.

Consor has since apologized and had this to say:

Please allow me to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to Kevin Porter Jr., his family, and the Rockets organization for the comments I made during last night's game. I mistakenly thought that Kevin was the son of former Washington player Kevin Porter and was unaware that the words I chose to describe his game-winning shot would be in any way hurtful or insensitive. I have reached out to Kevin to personally apologize and hope to be able to talk with him soon

Consor's comment was made during a replay of the guard's game-winning bucket. He stated "you've got to give credit. Kevin Porter Jr, like his dad, pulled that trigger at the right time". Consor didn't realize at the time that Porter's father was not the former Washington Bullets player Kevin Porter and actually Bryan Kevin Porter Sr, who pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in 1993 following the shooting death of a 14-year-old girl. His father was then killed by a gunshot in 2004.

Lots of players, officials, media, and executives have spoken out regarding the comments, including LeBron James. Needless to say it was a perfect storm of unfortunate comments that really should not have been made.
