Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Signs One-Year Deal

The New York Knicks are adding a defense-first forward to their bench as the team has agreed on a one-year deal with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

As Bobby Marks eluded too, 'MKG' can guard multiple positions and gives the Knicks some versatility with their defensive sets. Some call him underrated while others consider him a draft bust after going #2 overall in 2012, Kidd-Gilchrist is 27, and coming off a year with career lows in points and rebounds. He spent last season with the Hornets in Charlotte and the Mavericks in Dallas.

The Knicks still have a lot to improve on if they want to be taken serious in the eastern conference, but with the drafting of high-flyer Obi Toppin and the additions to their bench, it's certainly a step in the right direction.
