Klay Thompson Buyout Is Done; Set To Sign With Eastern Contender

All summer long, the Dallas Mavericks have insisted that they have no interest in buying out Klay Thompson. That is, until today, apparently. The team has just announced that a buyout has been agreed to, and Klay is free to take his talents to the team of his choice.

And that team, according to all accounts, is the Miami Heat.

The Heat were badly in need of another three-point shooter to spread the floor for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. They get their man in the former Splash Brother.

It's expected to be a two-year, $13 million deal for Klay in Miami.

Thompson is one of the greatest shooters of this generation, having averaged 40.9% from three-point range. For his career, he's averaged 18.6 points per game, and no one will ever forget the insane record of 37 points in one quarter that he set over a decade ago.

More to come...
