Developing Story: Indiana Pacers Working On Trade For Young Knicks Star

The Indiana Pacers have built up a solid young core in recent years highlighted by All-Star Tyrese Halliburton, and now, it appears they've got their next core piece in their sights in the form of New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin.

According to Ian Begley, the two teams have begun engaging in trade talks centred around the former lottery pick, and with a commitment to All-NBA star Julius Randle at forward, it appears the team is finally ready to move on from the athletic young forward.

In three years as a Knick, Toppin has yet to break out into the star he's shown the potential of being, averaging 7 PPG, but that time has come off the bench, playing just 14.7 MPG, and if he can land a starting role elsewhere, people within New York believe he could become that star.
