New York Knicks Make Free-Agent Splash

The New York Knicks and guard Austin Rivers have agreed to a three-year deal worth $10 million. While it's stated as a three-year contract, only the first year of the deal is guaranteed for Doc's son.

Rivers spent last year with the Houston Rockets via a trade from the Washington Wizards and finished the year averaging 8.8 points, 1.7 assists per game, while knocking down 42.1% of his attempted shots.

Rivers is 28-years-old and can give the Knicks some capable minutes, be it in a starter's role, but more likely off the bench. The Knicks have been rather quiet considering they are one of the only teams with a ton of cap space in the league.

There's a chance they can still get a deal done for Russell Westbrook and if they do, one of his old teammates will be waiting to welcome him in.
