New York Knicks Working on Russell Westbrook Trade

The Russell Westbrook sweepstakes are on full blast after reports surfaced this week that Westbrook wanted out of Houston and wasn't a fan of the team's direction. Word is he prefers a situation where he can be the #1 option and the floor general and not have to worry about another superstar like James Harden barking down his neck.

The New York Knicks, please raise your hand.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Houston and New York have discussed the parameters of a trade and continue to work out the details.

Westbrook had a decent 'one and done' as a Rocket, scoring 27.2 points, grabbing 7.9 rebounds, seven assists, and 1.6 steals per game, earning his ninth career All-Star appearance. Expect a Knicks offer to be centered around Julius Randle, Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox.

The Knicks have been rumored for months to have interest in Westbrook and now they are getting their chance to acquire the star who carries one of the biggest contracts in the league and one of the biggest personalities.

Sounds perfect for the Big Apple.
