New York Knicks Make Free-Agent Splash

The New York Knicks have impressed many this season and it looks like they are going to be adding a familiar face to their roster as the team is reportedly signing forward Taj Gibson.

The cause and effect is the Knicks will then be waiving forward Omari Spellman to make room for Gibson's return.

The 35-year-old Gibson brings some leadership, defensive abilities and rebounding prowess to the Knicks who are currently being carrier by Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Gibson is very familiar with Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau from their stints with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves so this transition couldn't be better set up for Gibson if he tried.

Gibson has averages of 9.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and has shot the rock at 52% in his career.

The Knicks are currently 5-3 on the season and off to a great start, holding the fifth seed in the east.
