New York Knicks Eyeing Victor Oladipo

After a surprisingly successful start to the 2020-2021 season, the New York Knicks have cooled off substantially, and are currently sitting in 11th in the East at just 9-13.  Perhaps looking to shake things up, it is rumored that the Knicks may be interested in All-Star Victor Oladipo, who was recently acquired by the Houston Rockets in the James Harden blockbuster.  This is not the first time Oladipo has been linked to the Knicks, as they were said to be interested in the 28-year-old guard back in November.  While talks obviously cooled off, as a move wasn't made, it's possible that Oladipo's recent play has reignited interest following last season's disappointing performance as he recovered from a serious quad injury.

Last season he played well-below his All-NBA potential, posting career lows in field goal percentage, rebounds, and steals while averaging just 14.5 points per game.  This season, both before and after the trade to Houston, Oladipo has been balling out averaging nearly 20/5/5 and has been looking much more energized as he was clearly hampered by his recovery in 2019-2020.

Easily one of the worst-run franchises in recent memory, the Knicks are notorious for bad transactions as a result of hair-trigger decisions.  Combining the recent losses with their recent history, many insiders have suggested that the Knicks are a team to keep an eye on if the Rockets decide to move on from the pending unrestricted free agent, in an attempt to make a run at the playoffs.
