Bradley Beal Signs Two-Year Deal In Free Agency

Beal will have a player option for the second year.
The 33-year-old former three-time All-Star declined his $5.6 million player option with the Clippers after last season, but has now agreed to a deal that is just a tad above that, at a $6.6 million salary. All in all, much easier to digest than his $250 million monster max deal he played on up until he was bought out by the Phoenix Suns last year for $99 million, while leaving $13.9 million on the table.
The Clippers had been moving to a younger core over the past six months, dealing away James Harden, Ivica Zubac, and finally Kawhi Leonard, bringing in younger players. The Beal move bucks that trend a bit, but it's a nice addition at the cost, and a relatively low-risk move, assuming he's able to play more than the six games he played in last season.
He missed nearly all of 2025-26 following surgery to repair a fractured hip. He hasn't played more than 53 games in a season since 2020-21.
Beal, 33, is a 14-year NBA veteran, and has averaged 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.3 minutes per game in his career.
