PJ Tucker Finished in Houston

Much like we are seeing across the NBA with some other tradeable assets, PJ Tucker and the Houston Rockets are working on an exit strategy. The versatile forward was a 'healthy scratch' on Thursday as management is going to work on a trade that ends up with the best situation for the team and for Tucker.

There's been a number of teams calling the Rockets about trading for Tucker however so far the Rockets asking price has been to the moon. The Miami Heat weren't willing to give up either Duncan Robinson or Tyler Herro and the Toronto Raptors balked at the price tag as well.

Rockets head coach Stephen Silas met with the media following the team's 125-105 loss to the Sacramento Kings and had this to say about Tucker's future with his ball club:

We're going to try to figure out something that works for him and works for us as far as him not being on the team anymore. I was under the assumption that he was going to play tonight and he didn't play. That was disappointing.

The 35-year-old and the Rockets have been on shaky terms ever since contract extension talks broke off last season. In 32 games so far this season, he's averaging 4.4 points and 4.6 boards per game.

Look for contenders to come calling these next two weeks as the Rockets will be holding out for the best offer right up to the March 25th deadline.
