Latest Details on Kawhi Leonard's Future With the Clippers

Kawhi Leonard went through the free-agent recruitment process once already, and it sounds like once was enough as according to multiple reports, the superstar is expected to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Leonard is likely to decline his player option and sign a long-term extension in the offseason. From Toronto to LA he signed a three-year deal with $103 million and his next deal should be worth much much more.

The 29-year-old doesn't comment on his future very much but back in December Leonard did mentioned he would likely opt-out after the season. Here's what Leonard had to say then:

Obviously, if I'm healthy, the best decision is to decline the player option. But that doesn't mean I'm leaving or staying. I'm focused on the season, like I said. We'll talk about that when the time is right.

Clippers fans should feel pretty safe with this Leonard news and the fact Paul George is already signed long-term. Their era continues as the team hopes the tandem can bring a championship to the 'other' team in LA.
