Report: Philadelphia 76ers Looking to Acquire Kyle Lowry This Summer

The NBA playoffs have yet to begin and reports are already surfacing on what next season looks like. The latest news is out of Philadelphia as according to The Athletic's Sam Amick, the 76ers will be aiming to sign Toronto Raptors point-guard Kyle Lowry.

Lowry is from Philly and reps the city with the best of them. The team will look to a sign-and-trade deal to make the acquisition happen, however they may have some competition as apparently the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat will also be in hot pursuit.

Lowry has battled some injuries this season including a toe infection and is still having a decent season on a Raptors team trying to claw their way into the back door of the postseason. The 35-year-old has averaged 17.5 points, 7.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals as a Toronto Raptor and regardless of his next destination, will go down as one of the franchise greats.

This season the Villanova product has managed to record 16.7 ppg while shooting 38.3% from deep. Next season will certainly be an interesting one but anybody connected to #WeTheNorth isn't worried about free-agent reports and more so worried about how Lowry is going to help the Raps make the playoffs.
