VIDEO: Kyrie Iriving and Joel Embiid Put on a Show in Philadelphia

The scene was set on Wednesday night as the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, both at 37-17 and tied for 1st place in the East, squared off in Philadelphia. The 76ers held on despite a late rally by the Nets to win 123-117, as the game produced some fireworks in a likely preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Joel Embiid continued his march towards his first MVP award by posting 39 points, 13 rebounds while making 10/11 FT and 3/6 3P. Not to be outdone, Kyrie Irving tried to keep the Nets in it by throwing up 37 points, 9 assists on 13/22 FG and 10/10 FT.

There were plenty of highlights in this one - check out this near full-length pass from Ben Simmons to Tobias Harris

There's no doubt that the game was missing some spice with Kevin Durant and James Harden not in the lineup for the Nets. Brooklyn simply didn't have anyone outside of Kyrie performing at a high level, whereas the 76ers were able to rely on Harris for an extremely efficient 26 points (11/17 FG, 2/3 3P). Philly also had a solid game from Simmons - 17 points (6/11 FG), 4 rebounds, 9 assists & 3 steals. Regardless, you can only beat the team in front of you, and for now the 76ers are in sole possession of 1st place in the East.

Look for the 76ers and Nets to meet up in the playoffs, with the winner coming out as the Eastern Conference Champions and head to the NBA Championship.
