Flashback Friday: Michael Jordan's 'Flu Game' 24 Years Ago Today!

It's one of the most legendary Finals games in NBA history. Despite suffering from the flu—or food poisoning, your choice—Michael Jordan scored 38 points to will the Chicago Bulls to a Game 5 victory and take a 3-2 series lead over the Utah Jazz.

Watch the late, great Stuart Scott deliver the highlights on ESPN that night:

“I almost played myself into passing out just to win a basketball game," said MJ afterwards.

Of course, this game has been much discussed since then, including by Jordan himself during "The Last Dance" documentary last year. MJ insists it wasn't actually a flu, but rather food poisoning from the pizza he ordered the night before the game in a Salt Lake City hotel.

The pizza delivery driver, himself a Michael Jordan fan, spoke about the pizza in question:

There you have it, straight from the pepperoni source.
