State Farm Arena Power Outage During Game 6—Yes, it Was The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia—Literally

Yes, you could say that the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young shot the lights out in Game 6, and you wouldn't be wrong, figuratively or literally. The unusual sight occurred as the power at State Farm Arena went out with 2 minutes to play.

It was a strange yet beautiful sight when the fans lit up the arena with their phone lights.

But when power was restored, it was the Philadelphia 76ers that turned the lights out on the Hawks, holding on for a 104-99 win and forcing a Game 7 back in Philly on Sunday night.

Sixers coach Doc Rivers, despite a very uninspiring comment before the game that saw him clowned all over Twitter, told Joel Embiid after the win that he called this one:

Rookie Tyrese Maxey came off the bench to provide an unexpected boost for the Sixers, scoring 16 points, and registering a team-high plus-12.
