Rumor: Hornets Could Bring Ball Brothers Together

It's been thought for some time that the New Orleans Pelicans are not inclined to match any offer sheet that point guard Lonzo Ball might receive. One rumor today talks of the possibility of a "double sign-and-trade" that could unite Lonzo with his brother LaMelo Ball in Charlotte.

The Athletic's John Hollinger opines that Devonte’ Graham would head from the Hornets to the Pelicans in that potential scenario. Pairing the two Balls together, if you will, would make for an exciting scenario in Charlotte.

However, Hollinger then goes on to say the Chicago Bulls could foil those plans, as they could enter the situation as a 3rd team, and have Lonzo re-routed to the Windy City.

The Bulls and Lonzo Ball are reportedly interested in joining forces on a lucrative deal worth $80 million over 4 years.

Lonzo Ball has steadily improved his shooting over his two years in New Orleans, the one part of his game that his detractors harped on. He average 14.6 PPG this past season, with 5.7 assists, and 37.8% from beyond the arc.

His brother, LaMelo Ball, burst onto the scene with the Hornets this year, winning Rookie Of The Year, averaging 15.7 PPG and 6 assists.
