Rumor: Sacramento Kings Interested In Pascal Siakam

Since news broke that Raptors All-Star forward Pascal Siakam is available for trade, multiple teams have been linked to his availability. One team with significant peaked interest is the Sacramento Kings. According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, "the Kings definitely have interest . . . they would like a crack at him, but again, it's just a matter of what does that look like."

Amick also highlights how Sacramento has been waiting to see the legitimacy of Siakam's availability, as the Raptors don't appear hell-bent on moving the 27-year-old.

The last year for Siakam has been tumultuous, to say the least. It's been fraught with shooting slumps, COVID protocols and injuries — he will miss the beginning of this upcoming season due to a torn labrum in his shoulder. However, the Cameroon native still averaged 21.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists this past season.

Siakam's presence on the Kings would be profound, forming a tandem of him and De'Aaron Fox. The 2019 champion would bring a pedigree that has been sorely lost in Sacramento for over a decade. Furthermore, on the court, Siakam would augment the Kings' abhorrent defence with his length and agility, as well as become a focal point of their offence — assuaging the oftentimes overwhelming offensive burden placed on Fox.

Amick extolled the potential fit of Siakam in Sacramento, loosely comparing his trajectory to that of Chris Webber.

A potential deal with the Raptors would likely be centered around Buddy Hield or Marvin Bagley III.
