Boston Celtics To Sign Garrison Mathews To Non-Guaranteed Contract

The Boston Celtics are expected to sign Garrison Mathews to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract.

Mathews spent the last two seasons on a two-way deal with the Washington Wizards. Therefore, he played with both the NBA club and their G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. However, he stuck with Washington for the entirety of this season. In 64 games, he averaged 5.5 PPG, 1.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists.

Mathews could end up being a nice depth option for the Celtics, as he is known for his solid three-point shooting ability. With this move, the Celtics also have 20 players expected to be at camp.

We will have to wait and see how the 24-year-old shooting guard does at camp. Perhaps he could surprise a lot of people.
