VIDEO: Scottie Barnes Charges Into NBA Spotlight In Just 3 Dribbles!

With No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham sitting out the first week-and-a-half of the season, much of the rookie buzz has centered on No. 4 pick Scottie Barnes. The Toronto Raptors rookie has exploded onto the scene, and Friday night, showed it all off in just three giant dribbles.

The full-court run and one-handed monster jam had the entire NBA world gasping for air.

The comparisons to Giannis Antetokounmpo were popping up everywhere.

"I love it," said Raptors head coach Nick Nurse after the game. "When that well's producing, you gotta keep going to it."

Barnes' teammates are marvelling at his play as well. "You see the things he does on the floor and it's incredible," Gary Trent Jr. said. "He's dunking in transition, he's finding guys, he's playing defence. He's doing everything for us and helping us get wins."

Through 6 games, Barnes' rookie ranks are:

  • Points Per Game: 2nd (17.7)
  • Rebounds:            1st   (8.3)
  • FG% (min. 5 shots)     1st (55.6%)
  • Assists:                 6th   (2.3)
  • Minutes:               2nd   (34.9)
So far, it's safe to say that the once-controversial choice of Barnes at No. 4 is paying off large for Masai Ujiri and the Toronto Raptors.
