Rumor: Celtics Interested In Ben Simmons (But Here's Who'd They'd Have to Give Up)

The Boston Celtics' season hasn't gone exactly according to plan this far. They are looking for answers. And according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, one of those answers could be Ben Simmons.

But, as you'd expect from any discussions with Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey, this deal won't get done on the cheap.

Jaylen Brown would have to be included in any package the Celtics would offer for Simmons, according to Charania. The Celtics just learned today that Brown would miss the next one-to-two weeks with a hamstring strain.

Brown launched himself into All-Star status last season, posting career highs in most categories. This season, he's upped the ante, with a career-best 25.6 points per game.

As for Simmons, Charania says he has now provided the Sixers with the names of the mental health professionals he's seen via the players association, circumventing any further fines from the team for not cooperating. An NBPA source told Charania that "as long as Simmons has provided his team with the basic information" that he now has, they shouldn't have grounds to fine him any further.

And the saga continues...
