Very Promising Update Regarding Klay Thompson

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told TNT's Allie LaForce that Klay Thompson participated in his first five-on-five practice with the team since tearing his Achilles last season. Thus, this is another huge step forward for the 31-year-old.

If all goes according to plan, the Warriors are hoping that Thompson returns on Christmas Day. It would be massive to see occur, as he has missed each of the last two seasons. He was out the entirety of the 2019-20 season due to a torn ACL and of course missed last season with his torn Achilles.

Before the injuries, Thompson was one of the best players in the entire sport. He played in five straight All-Star Games and of course was a major part of the Warriors' core.

In 615 career games with the Warriors, Thompson has averaged 19.5 PPG, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He will be looking to build on those totals once he is finally able to return.

The Warriors are handling themselves very well without Thompson right now, though. At this said juncture, they have a 12-2 record and are at the top of the Western Conference. Once Thompson is back, he and Stephen Curry could once again dominate together. Who knows? Maybe they will lead Golden State to their seventh NBA championship.
