Boston Celtics To Be Without Jayson Tatum

The Boston Celtics have announced that Jayson Tatum has entered the league's health and safety protocols.

This certainly isn't good news for the Celtics, as they now have a total of nine players in protocols. One has to remember that they also are set to play on Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, so it's apparent that they will be very shorthanded for it.

Yet, out of all the players who are out for the Celtics, there is no bigger loss than Tatum. He is Boston's best player and a primary reason why the Celtics are still fighting for a playoff spot right now. The two-time All-Star is living up to his reputation this season, as he is averaging 25.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Alas, this is very bad timing for the Celtics, as they currently have a 16-17 record and are ninth in the Eastern Conference. Here's to hoping Tatum can have two negative tests over a 24-hour period soon. If not, he won't be active for a minimum of 10 days.
