Celtics Sign Two Players

The Boston Celtics have signed Al-Farouq Aminu and Norvel Pelle to 10-day contracts.

This isn't surprising in the slightest, as the Celtics currently have eight players in COVID-19 protocol and very well could lose more of them to it soon. Furthermore, they are scheduled to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day and that's a must-see contest.

Aminu is an interesting short-term addition for the Celtics, as he's an 11-year veteran who has played over 700 NBA games. In 23 contests last season, he averaged 4.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists between the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls.

Pelle isn't too flashy of a player, but it isn't hard to understand why the Celtics opted to sign him. They just lost center Enes Freedom to protocol, so Pelle will give them more depth at center in the meantime. In 13 games last season between the Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks, he averaged 1.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists.

Overall, these two aren't bad players to add as temporary depth. They will be aiming to impress during their 10-day contracts.
