Isaiah Thomas Goes OFF in G League Debut

Former NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas continued his comeback attempt Wednesday with his G League debut, and made a strong statement on his readiness to rejoin the NBA.
Thomas dropped 42 points for the Grand Rapids Gold, the Denver Nuggets affiliate, along with 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 three-pointers.

The 32-year-old certainly wasn't shy, shooting 16-for-30 from the field. “The ultimate goal is to get back in the NBA,” Thomas said while playing for the United States National Team in November.

At least one NBA player voiced his support for IT on social media after his performance:
Ja Morant tweeted "LEAGUE him already plz. damn."

As we reported last week, Thomas will also suit up in the G League Showcase event, Dec. 19-22, in which all of the feeder league's best put on a show for NBA scouts.

And for any scouts in attendance at last night's game, they got a 2-for-1, as IT's teammate Lance Stephenson is also hoping for another shot in the NBA. He helped his case as well by posting a triple-double, 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.

As 43 more NBA players went into COVID health & safety protocols this past week, teams are desperate for help, so Thomas and Stephenson could very well be getting called on, one way or another.
