NBA Rumors: 2 Boston Celtics Most Likely to be Traded

The Boston Celtics currently sit with a 12-11 record on the season as they have enjoyed an up and down campaign. Trade rumors have been surrounding the team since before the season started and the rumblings continue. Let's take a look at two Celtics who could be moved before the deadline this season.

Jaylen Brown

Brown hasn't taken over the Celtics number one spot over Jayson Tatum so if any star is being shipped out of Boston, it's Brown. The Duke product has been inconsistent this season, averaging 21.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists. The former third-overall pick has been linked to a few trades including any Ben Simmons talks with the Philadelphia 76ers and for a potential blockbuster with the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard.

Brown isn't shooting the ball as much as he did last season and his numbers reflect it. Along with Brown and Tatum there seems to be a rift with some teammates that won't go away so keep an eye on the Celtics, if there's a mega-deal to be made, Brown is likely going to be involved.

Marcus Smart

Smart is considered the heart beat of the Celtics as he's a glue player who plays the game the right way. Smart loves to see his teammates sharing the basketball and getting each other involved and when he doesn't seen this type of play from his teammates, he's never been shy to tell them. The combo guard is averaging 11.1 points per game, 3.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists. His 2.2 steals per contest is among the league leaders and Smart's a valuable piece on both sides of the ball.

If the Celtics hover around the .500 mark, they are expected to explore a trade. If so, expect to see either Brown or Smart as part of the package.
