Grizzlies' Bane: Ja Morant the Best PG in the NBA

Unless you have been sleeping under a rock you know Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies has taken the NBA by storm since arriving on the scene in 2019-20. While he gets some love from the rest of the league, his teammate Desmond Bane doesn't feel it's enough.

Not only does Bane see Morant as an all-star in 2022, he wants to see his teammate get his due as the best point-guard in the entire NBA. The Grizz beat the Brooklyn Nets 118-104 on Monday night and Bane spoke to ESPN's Tim Bontemps after the game and had this to say:

He's special. People debate whether or not he should be an All-Star, but ... I don't think it's any question he's an All-Star. The real conversation is, 'Is he the best point guard in the league?

Morant is as humble as they come so don't expect to see him trying to get Bane's message across on a billboard or a series of tweets. He knows his play will do all the talking he needs and it's done exactly that all season long. So far in 2021-22 the crafty guard has averaged personal bests with 25.1 points per game to go along with shooting 49.2% from the field, 40.4% from deep, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest.

Look for the former second overall pick to get the call to the all-star game this season and after that the sky is the limit. The Grizzlies are currently ranked fourth in the Western Conference and look poised to take the next step into contention this season.
