Revealed: Giannis Antetokounmpo's 2nd Choice for Landing Spot If Not Knicks

The New York Knicks had a chance to land superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks this summer. We know that the Greek Freak asked to be traded there but the Knicks didn't come up with an offer that enticed the Bucks. Now we're learning what Giannis's second choice would be, if not New York.

“Again, in doing the Giannis story and talking to people around the league, Miami was suggested to me as a place Giannis would really love to land if it's not New York," said Howard Beck on the Zach Lowe podcast.

In suggesting who the Heat might have to send to Milwaukee to get something done, Beck and Lowe threw out names like Tyler Herro (a Milwaukee native), Andrew Wiggins, and maybe even promising young center Kel'el Ware, along with a couple of first-rounders and pick swaps.

"I just don't ever underestimate the Heat's aggression, their ambition, and their star chasing. It would not surprise me if they just found a way," said Beck.

We're still waiting on the result of the ongoing discussions between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks on what his future will hold. Trade talk started to ramp up big-time this month when it was revealed that Giannis actually did ask for a trade to the Knicks before the current season, and then more recently it was learned that he would be talking with Bucks brass about a possible move.

The Heat have lost four straight to drop down to 8th spot in the tightly-packed middle of the Eastern Conference standings. Milwaukee is floundering in 10th spot, far back of the pack, and Giannis is expected to be out for another few weeks with a strained calf.
