Magic Guard To Miss Several Weeks With Injury

They only recently got rookie guard Jalen Suggs back from a 20-game absence, now the Orlando Magic will have to make do without RJ Hampton for several weeks due to a knee injury.

Hampton suffered an MCL sprain and a bone bruise in the Magic's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. Khobi Price of The Orlando Sentinal reports that Hampton should miss 2 to 4 weeks, as long as there are no further setbacks.

The team said that how he responds to rehab and treatment will determine the next steps in his recovery.

The 20-year-old shooting guard was acquired by the Magic in the Aaron Gordon trade last year from the Denver Nuggets, after being selected by Milwaukee with the 24th pick in the 2020 Draft.

He's averaging 7.2 points in 19 minutes per game this season with Orlando, while shooting it at a 36.4% clip from three-point range.

The Magic currently sport the worst record in the NBA, at 8-38.
