NBA Rumors: Rockets Set High Price For Trade Target

The Houston Rockets have some desirable pieces in the trade market, shooting guard Eric Gordon being one of them. The team has now named its asking price, according to a report, asking for a 1st rounder in return.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype says several "playoff-caliber teams" are in hot pursuit of the 33-year-old vet.

'Splash Gordon' has been dropping threes at a career-high 45.5% rate, with his overall FG% also at an all-time high of 50.5%. But it's also the way he's been performing in the clutch that's got playoff teams interested.

According to Rockets reporter Lanchard Binkley, Gordon is shooting 58% in clutch time.

But there are some caveats to taking on Gordon. He's earning $18.2M this season, and $19.6M in 2022-23. And despite his incredible shooting this season, teams will also be looking at his numbers from his first 5 years in Houston, which are considerably less impressive. Last season, for instance, he shot just 32.9% from behind the arc, and hadn't been a 40% shooter from three since 2015.

The Rockets have several other players on the trade block as well, making the next three weeks a busy one in Houston.
