Philadelphia 76ers To Sign Forward

The Philadelphia 76ers are set to sign forward Braxton Key to a 10-day contract.

Key has spent the entirety of this season with the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League. Because they are the affiliate of the 76ers, they certainly have been able to keep a close eye on him during the year.

Key has been playing very well with the Blue Coats thus far. In 15 games, he is averaging 13.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per contest. It's been a notable increase in production for him, as he averaged just 4.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists with the Blue Coats last season.

It isn't very surprising to see the 76ers give Key a chance. At this said juncture, they have five players currently in health and safety protocols. With that, Key has obviously been impressing during his second season with Delaware. Perhaps if he thrives with the 76ers during his short contract, he could land another 10-day deal or even one for the remainder of the season.

Alas, let's see how Key does during his first taste of NBA action.
