Celtics And Spurs Complete A Trade

The Boston Celtics have acquired Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs for Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, and a 2022 first-round pick.

Upon first glance, this looks like a good move for the Celtics. White is having himself another very strong season and should help Boston improve from here. In 49 games this campaign, he is averaging 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. The 27-year-old also offers versatility to the lineup, as he can play both shooting guard and point guard.

Richardson has been in the rumor mill for a good amount of time, so it isn't all that surprising to see that he is being moved to the Spurs. In 44 games this season with the Celtics, he has averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He was primarily a role player for Boston, but it will be interesting to see if he receives the chance to be a starter again as a member of the Spurs.

Langford was in his third season with the Celtics this year. In 44 games, he averaged 4.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists. The 22-year-old is still young enough where he can improve from here, so perhaps joining the Spurs can help him take that next step.

Nevertheless, we have another trade in the NBA. Stay tuned for what should continue to be a crazy day!
