Jazz, Blazers, Spurs Swing 3-Team Trade

The Utah Jazz are sending out the expiring contract of  Joe Ingles in a three-team trade that also involves the Portland Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs.
Ingles is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, but he becomes a free agent at season's end, and his $13M contract came in handy for the Jazz.

The Ingles contract goes to Portland, who also receive a 2nd round pick from Utah along with Elijah Hughes. In return, the Jazz get Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Juancho Hernangomez, while the Spurs get Tomas Satoransky and another Utah 2nd round pick.

Ingles has already made it clear that he hopes to return to Salt Lake City as a free agent.

"I’ve built my eight years here of hard work and in the community and all that stuff," said Ingles last week, "but I’m very well aware of the business side and all that stuff." He appeared to be fine with the fact that his contract was able to bring in a bit of help for the Jazz for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old Alexander-Walker is that help, and as noted by Adrian Wojnarowski, who reported the trade, he will immediately be a part of the Jazz rotation, bringing his 12.8 points a game to Utah.

For Portland, they clear another $5M for cap purposes for next season, and add another draft pick.
