NBA Rumors: 2 Teams Interested In Thaddeus Young

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves are each interested in acquiring Thaddeus Young from the San Antonio Spurs.

With the Spurs, Young has primarily been a role player and could provide a bit more depth to either of these teams. In 26 games this season, he is averaging 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. When seeing as how he has over 1,000 games of NBA experience, that only helps make him more appealing for a team looking to go on a playoff run.

The Suns are currently at the top of the Western Conference with a 43-10 record. With how strongly they have been playing, it is hard to believe that Young wouldn't be open to the idea of being traded there. Furthermore, he would offer them a bit more depth at forward, which certainly isn't a bad thing to have come playoff time.

It seems that the Timberwolves are linked to just about everybody available on the trading block, and Young is one of those players. At this time, Minnesota has a 28-25 record and is trying to climb up the standings in the Western Conference. Young could be a nice player for them to acquire, as he would give them a solid option off the bench.

Alas, it will be interesting to see if either of these teams end up acquiring Young by the deadline.
