Suns' Chris Paul Out Long Term

Chris Paul will be out for at least the next six to eight weeks due to a right thumb fracture.

This is a massive blow for the Suns, as Paul is a legitimate star and has been an integral part of their success this campaign. At this point of the season, they have a 48-10 record and are first place in the Western Conference. They also just so happen to have the best record in the entire league, too.

Losing Paul at this juncture of the season is very bad for Phoenix. This is especially true when noting that the playoffs aren't too far away. The Golden State Warriors also trail them by 6.5 games, while the Memphis Grizzlies do by 8 games. Although they have some breathing room on them, they could catch up with Paul being out for such a long period of time.

It's been another All-Star-caliber season for Paul. In 58 games, he has averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists. It will be very hard for the Suns to replace this kind of production in their lineup. Here's to hoping this injury doesn't end up forcing him to miss playoff time, too.
