Update On Ja Morant Has Grizzlies Fans Concerned

The injury bug is once again keeping star guard Ja Morant out of the Memphis Grizzlies lineup. And his return is not exactly around the corner, according to coach Taylor Jenkins.

A "tweaked knee" has already kept Morant out of the last three games, and now he'll be forced to sit out at least the next two weeks, at which point he'll be "re-evaluated." That takes him out of pretty much the rest of the regular season.

Jenkins, however, remains optimistic he'll be back and ready for the playoffs. They're essentially playing it safe by load managing him now.

The only good news in all this is that the Grizzlies, shockingly, haven't really missed a beat when their All-Star has been out of the lineup this season. Morant has missed 17 games thus far due to a knee sprain, a back issue and now the tweaked knee, and Memphis has gone 15-2 in those games.

Morant has averaged 27.6 points, 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game this season, while the Grizzlies hold the 2nd-best record in the NBA, at 50-23.
