Bucks expected to sign EuroLeague star

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly expected to sign EuroLeague star Luca Vildoza to a deal ahead of the 2022 NBA playoffs and into the 2022-23 season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Argentinian point guard had undergone foot surgery in October 2021, but has reportedly fully recovered. Vildoza was signed by the New York Knicks last May, but was released just prior to the start of the 2021-22 campaign due to the foot injury.

Vildoza won the 2020 Spanish League ACB Finals MVP, leading Baskonia to the championship. In 27 games during the 2020-21 Liga ACB season, the 26-year-old turned in averages of 10.9 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.6 steals.

Vildoza also played for Argentina in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In four games, he averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 assists.

At 6-foot-3, Vildoza has good size and length at the point guard spot, which should be a good asset for the reigning NBA champions as they get ready for their title defense.

He will likely be behind Jrue Holiday and George Hill in Milwaukee's depth chart. But if Vildoza shows that can succeed in the NBA, perhaps he'll be able to crack Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer's rotation, especially for next season.
