Report: A-Rod Was Shooting For The Moon For T-Wolves New Team President

For whatever you think about Alex Rodriguez, never let it be said that he lacks confidence. After taking over as part-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, reports Dane Moore, A-Rod and his partner Marc Lore made out a list of targets to bring in as president of basketball operations. Let's just say they shot for the moon.

On their list were pretty much every huge (and mostly unattainable) front office name in the game: Masai Ujiri, Daryl Morey, Bob Myers, Sam Presti, and even  originally Pat Riley.

Now they're focusing on one other name from the list, and are said to be in "serious talks" with the Denver Nuggets chief, Tim Connelly. He's the man who's assembled a roster that includes two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, along with Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. (who'll return next season from injuries that wiped out their year).

The other four on that heady list would seem to be untouchable.

A-Rod and Lore came on board last summer, and intend to take over majority ownership of the T-Wolves from Glen Taylor by the end of next year.
