NBA Rumors: D'Angelo Russell's Days In Minnesota Are Numbered

How much are D'Angelo Russell's days in Minneapolis numbered? According to one report today, that number could be less than one. Minnesota Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore says it could even happen tonight at the Draft.

"I've been saying for the past month that I've heard it is over a 50% chance that D'Angelo Russell is traded this offseason," wrote Moore. "Conversations with a few non-Timberwolves sources today suggest a Russell trade is now even more likely -- either tonight or the first week of July."

That's pretty imminent.

Russell has an expiring $31.8M contract this coming season, though he is extension-eligible. He had a nice regular season in Minnesota, averaging 18.1 points and 7.1 assists, but his performance in the playoffs left many wondering if he would continue to have a role on the team going forward.

The 25-year-old is great friends with Karl-Anthony Towns, but the T-Wolves are said to have a few irons in the fire on the trade market. Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic says that "anyone not named Karl-Anthony Towns or Anthony Edwards could be in play in trade talks."

In fact, they've already been tied to one big man that they'd love to pair with KAT in the frontcourt
