NBA Rumors: Fred VanVleet Comments On Extension Talks With Raptors

Toronto Raptors team leader Fred VanVleet can opt-out of his contract after the coming season, but listening to the "bet on yourself" point guard, it certainly doesn't sound like he wants to go anywhere.

“I love being a Raptor,” VanVleet told Daily Hive“I would love to spend my entire career here."

"We have a great relationship with the city, the franchise, ownership, management… it’s a match made in heaven for me. I love being a Toronto Raptor, and hopefully we can continue that.”

As for a potential contract extension to take him well beyond his current four-year deal?

I’m not really too worried about contract discussions or anything like that,” VanVleet said. “That’s just the business aspect of it. And I’m confident that we’ll figure it out.”

'Steady Freddy' made his first All-Star team this past season, setting career-highs, averaging 20.3 points and 6.7 assists, to go along with 1.7 steals and 37.7% shooting from behind the arc.
