NBA Rumors: Lance Stephenson Surgery & Free Agency Status

Indiana Pacers beat writer Scott Agness has learned that Lance Stephenson underwent knee surgery sometime after the season ended for the Pacers.

Agness reports that Stephenson "had surgery on his right knee to remove a few loose particles and he’s already back on the floor shooting, league sources said." He should be fully ready for training camp in the fall.

As for his impending free agency, Agness writes that "there is mutual interest in re-signing the fan favorite, league sources said." And further to that, the 31-year-old "doesn’t want to ever leave (Indiana) again."

Stephenson was brought in on a series of 10-day contracts mid-season, returning after a 3+ year absence for his 3rd career stint in Indiana, and he immediately picked up where he left off, air guitaring his way into the hearts of Pacers fans once again with a 20-point 1st quarter in his first game back home.

Stephenson finished the season averaging 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 40 games for the Pacers.
