NBA Rumors: Mike D'Antoni To Meet With Michael Jordan

The Charlotte Hornets are back to the drawing board in their head coaching search, after the stunning about-face of Kenny Atkinson. Today, Hornets owner Michael Jordan will be meeting with the man who was the team's 2nd choice in their original search.

Mike D'Antoni, who has an impressive .560 winning percentage in his 16 years as a head coach in the NBA, will sit down with MJ today.

The 71-year-old last coached full-time in 2020, the last of his four years with the Houston Rockets. He had previously spent two years with the Los Angeles Lakers, four years with the New York Knicks, and probably most famously, five years with the run-and-gun, "7 seconds or less" offense of the Phoenix Suns.

Longtime former Portland Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts was thought to be the other finalist for the Hornets' job, but it's as yet unknown if he'll be called in for an interview.
