NBA Rumors: One Player The Heat Are NOT Putting Into Any Kevin Durant Discussions

The Miami Heat would love to get their hands on Kevin Durant. The disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star has asked for a trade, but the Nets are asking for the sun and moon from any team in return. And South Beach is one of KD's preferred destinations.

According to Heat beat reporter Barry Jackson, however, there's one player that the Heat have definitely not included in any discussions as of yet.

Jackson says that there have been no discussions about Bam Adebayo being included in any KD package. And while the big man hasn't actually sought any assurances from the Heat about his status, "the sense is that Miami prefers not to deal him," writes Jackson.

One complication is that the Nets would have to get off Ben Simmons before they could even bring in Adebayo, as NBA teams are only allowed to have one player on a rookie max contract.

He continued, “initial talks between the Heat and Brooklyn were ‘hot and heavy,’ but then cooled when Brooklyn wasn’t satisfied with Miami’s potential package."

But Pat Riley will continue the chase; Jackson quotes Ian Begley of SNY, “people with connection to the Heat have been in Durant’s ear heavily in the days after the trade request.”
