Raptors Re-Sign Forward To Two-Year Deal

He was brought in on a hardship exception contract last December, and although he got into only four games with the Toronto Raptors, DJ Wilson did enough to impress the brass into agreeing on a new two-year contract.

It's a veteran minimum deal, according to Michael Scotto, with $250,000 guaranteed. He's currently with the Raptors' Summer League team in Las Vegas.

Wilson is 6'10" and lanky (hence the very cool nickname Lanky Smoove), so he just fits into the Raptors 6'7" - 6'10" club. In his four games last season, he averaged 7.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in just 13 minutes of game action. He showed the decided ability to fit into coach Nick Nurse's system.

Before signing with the Raptors, he impressed in the G League last season as well, registering 17.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 31 games with the Oklahoma City Blue.

He ended up signing three 10-day contracts with the Raptors, who were obviously interested in keeping the former No. 17 overall pick (Milwaukee, 2017) in the system.

At least one Raptors observer, though, is wondering if signing another player is a precursor to... other things.

Could there possibly be a deal involving multiple players in the works?
