Sacramento Kings Sign Free Agent Power Forward

The Sacramento Kings have added to their power forward mix, as head coach Mike Brown has added a familiar face to his roster.

KZ Okpala, who spent his first three seasons as a back-end of the bench player with the Miami Heat, has signed a two-year deal with the Kings, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Okpala played for head coach Brown on the Nigerian National Team in the summer of 2021. The coach had high praise for the youngster at that time.

"KZ is a remarkable talent," said Brown. "He can be a defensive player of the year candidate..."

The 23-year-old averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game in the 21 games he got into with Miami.

He was a 2nd round pick (32nd overall) of the Phoenix Suns in the 2019 NBA Draft.
