Kings Sign Free Agent Sharpshooter

In only two short seasons in the NBA, he already has a championship ring to his credit. Now guard Sam Merrill will bring his sharpshooting to the Sacramento Kings on a free agent deal.

The 26-year-old shooting guard got into just six games with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, but was a contributor for 30 games to the 2020-21 world champion Milwaukee Bucks. He fired threes at a 44.7% clip for the Bucks while averaging 4.2 points in just under 10 minutes per game.

He adds even more depth to a jam-packed Sacramento Kings backcourt, which, heading into training camp next month also includes De'Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, Malik Monk, Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Huerter, Quinn Cook, Joe Jackson and Terence Davis.

The Kings have 20 players in all on the roster at this point. Should be a crowded gym when camp opens on Sept. 27th.
