NBA Rumors: Nets In "Advanced Discussions" With Power Forward

The Brooklyn Nets are getting busy filling out their roster as training camp approaches. The word was out that they were looking to add an established power forward, and they are closer to doing that with today's report.

According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the Nets have moved into “advanced discussions” with free agent Markieff Morris. The Philadelphia 76ers were also said to be interested over the weekend.

The slightly lesser accomplished of the Morris Twins, Markieff spent last season with the Miami Heat, though much of that was done on the injured list, after his run-in with Nikola Jokic left him with whiplash that kept him out for four months.

Healthy now, the Nets believe he could add some beef to their frontcourt, even as a potential stretch-5. Morris has averaged 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in his 11-year career, and the Nets will be his 7th NBA team.

The Nets also added a versatile frontcourt defender in Yuta Watanabe just a day ago.
