No. 2 Pick Chet Holmgren Out For Season With Foot Injury

The Oklahoma City Thunder have confirmed that no. 2 overall pick Chet Holmgren suffered a Lisfranc fracture in his right foot and will be out for the entire 2022-23 season, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Holmgren sustained the injury during Saturday's Pro-Am game in Seattle when he tried to defend a bulldozing LeBron James on the fastbreak.

With this news, Holmgren joins a list of top picks that missed their entire rookie season due to injury. These include Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid.

This is devastating news for the Thunder, who were expecting an exciting season with their prized rookie.
