Cavaliers Add Two To Complete Training Camp Roster

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been getting busy filling out their training camp roster, signing a 2nd-year point guard and a 3rd-year power forward.

Cooper is a former five-star recruit coming out of high school, and was a 2nd round selection of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA Draft. He only got into a total of 39 minutes for the Hawks last season. In 22 regular-season G League games however, with the team's affiliate the College Park SkyHawks, he averaged 17.1 points, 6.9 assists and shot 36% from long distance.

He'll likely join the Cleveland Charge in the G League after camp to continue his development.

The Cavs also signed power forward Mamadi Diakite to a training camp deal, though it is not an Exibit 10. In his two seasons in the league, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder, he's gotten into 27 games, averaging 12 minutes per game, 3.7 points and 3.4 rebounds.

During the 2020-21 season, the athletic 6'9" Diakite earned selections on both the All-G League First Team and the league’s All-Defensive Team.

That brings the Cavs training camp roster to a full 20.
