Magic Guard Injured Again—Out "Indefinitely"

It's been a rough start to the NBA career of last year's No. 5 overall pick Jalen Suggs. The Orland Magic guard missed 34 games due to injuries last season and now is out "indefinitely" after suffering an ankle sprain.

The injury occurred in the 3rd quarter of the Magic's second game on Friday night; he left the game and did not return. An MRI has now come back confirming the sprain.

Terrible timing for Suggs, who was off to a much better start in his second season, with 21 points on opening night.

He suffered a knee injury in the preseason, and missed the final two exhibition games for Orlando after an MRI confirmed he had a left knee sprain and bone bruise. He was playing the first two regular-season games with his left leg bandaged up to protect the knee. Unfortunately, the ankle sprain will knock him out of the lineup.

A fractured thumb and another ankle injury that required surgery after the season left Suggs playing only 48 games in his rookie season last year. He averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
